Mowbray House Prospectus 2009

At Mowbray House all common areas have reverse cycle air‐conditioning for comfort in all
seasons.

A fridge, pantry and microwave are available at all times, as well as tea and coffee
facilities.

An undercover outdoor entertainment area, within the gardens, plays host to barbeques
beside the swimming pool.

The extensive parking area is flood lit at night, for safety and security.

Meals are served at the times listed below.

Breakfast 8:00am - 9:00am
Lunch 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Dinner 5:00pm - 6:30pm

 

Proprietors:

The Owners and Proprietors have extensive experience in providing Independent Living
and Supported Care Accommodation.

 

Staffing:

As well as part-time and casual staff, there are full‐time managers who live on site and are
accessible at all times.

 

Accommodation:

Mowbray House has several properties available for Independent living.

All rooms are fully furnished, including: colour television.

Rooms are serviced once a week and linen is provided.

Mowbray House provides three meals daily: A continental breakfast, cut lunch and a
cooked dinner. On Sundays a cooked breakfast is provided.

The client shall make staff aware of medical history and any special requirements i.e.;
financial management, when moving in for appropriate provisions to be made available.

Residents should insure any valuable items as Mowbray does not take responsibility for
personal property.

Rent & Financial Matters: 1st September 2009

Current rates as displayed below are variable and subject to change. The
Management will give written notice of such changes in advance.

Rent will be required in advance and paid daily weekly fortnightly.

$20.00 refundable key deposit is required when moving in.

Two weeks noticed of intention to leave is required in writing.

All financial transactions are logged and accessible to clients.

 

House Rules:

1. Visitors are allowed in the communal areas only
2. Rooms are to be kept neat and tidy at all times
3. Noise is to be kept to a minimum in consideration of other residents
4. Electric heaters are not to be used by residents
5. Residents must meet dress standards at all times
6. Illegal drugs and alcohol are strictly prohibited
7. Residents are required to submit 14 days notice prior to leaving
8. Late meals are through previous arrangement only
9. Residents are required to maintain hygiene in their rooms
10.Residents must take all required medication
11.Smoking is strictly allocated to outside areas only

 

Personal Care:

As a minimum, residents must be capable of maintaining basic personal hygiene. This
includes showering and toileting, as these services are not provided by Mowbray House.

Residents are also expected to provide their own towels and toiletries.

 

Medical Care:

If a resident is unable to manage his or her own medication, the proprietors or managers,
are available to administer it when required.

It is important to note that the proprietors or managers will only administer medication if
it is prepared by a pharmacist and provided to us in the form of a Webster Pack.

Any costs associated with this will be the responsibility of the resident.

 

Local Amenities and Public Transport:

Amenities within walking distance of Mowbray House include: a shopping centre, post
office, banks, video shops, pharmacy, deli and public transport to the city.

 

Residents Rights and Responsibilities:

During their stay at Mowbray House the residents' rights include:

  • To be treated with dignity and respect
  • To be afforded the optimum degree of privacy
  • To obtain assistance outside of the facility

Residents also have responsibilities during their stay including:

  • The treatment of furniture and furnishings with care
  • The treatment of staff and other residents with courtesy and respect for their rights and privacy.
  • Observing all reasonable rules and policies
  • Informing staff if meals are not required or of any intention to be absent overnight
